Day 3

Mr. H is all ready to get the kids in their rooms in his purple robe!

Lincoln Memorial

What is it about the Lincoln Memorial that is so moving? The building isn't fancy. The statue isn't pretty. There is no pretty music. I think it's power lies in it's simplicity. The strength of the columns. The pensive sorrow of his face. The elegant simplicity of the architecture. The beauty of his words. It's just amazing.

Day 3

Today we had an eventful and amazing day. We started off the day by going to the Bascilica in D.C. After that we went to the Smithsoian museums. It was all really cool to see but one thing that stood out to me was the civil war exhibit.  I took civil war class this semester in school so when I was walking through I saw many things that I learned in this class  and now understood. After the museums we went to the Lincoln, Vietnam,  Korean, and world war two memorials.

I loved seeing how much all of the monuments and memorials meant to everyone today, especially to the veterans and their families that were there!
I think we need to start a fund to build a Basillica in Bellevue, the one here is amazing!!!
